The label holder consists of a body (1) with a sloping surface (2) which has one face designed to receive a label, and a cover (4) of a transparent material. The cover is hinged to one lengthwise edge (9) of the sloping surface and is able to pivot between a first position in which it covers the sloping surface and a second position in which it is open and gives access to the sloping surface. The cover (4) is normally held in the closed position by a series of elastic rings (6) which can be made in one piece with the cover, e.g. from polypropylene. The hinge between the cover and the sloping surface of the body is made from a thin strip (5) of material.
