A web-pulling device for introducing a web of material between the rollers of a roller system, in particular a reel changer, comprises web-pulling means for guiding the start of the web of material between the rollers, which means comprise at least one chain part, attachment means for holding the web of material, guide means for guiding the web-pulling means and drive means for moving the web- pulling means through the guide means, the drive means comprising a plurality of first gearwheels which are arranged at a distance from one another along the path of the web of material which is to be introduced, and a central drive member for driving the first gearwheels, and the distance between the first gearwheels is shorter than the length of the chain part. A web-pulling device of this nature is advantageously used in a reel changer.
