PURPOSE:To sterilize an object to be sterilized such as mattress down to its inside in a short period of time. CONSTITUTION:This sterilizing device 1 for sterilizing the object to be sterilized, such as mattress 29 or mat, housed in a bag body 30 by ozone is provided with an ozone generator 3 and vacuum pump 5 in a casing 2. An air intake port 6 for supplying the air outside the casing 2 to an ozone generator 3 is formed in this casing 2 and a discharge port 7 of a vacuum pump 5 is formed. An ozone killer 4 is connected to a flow passage 23 on the suction side of this vacuum pump 5. Connection ports 8, 9 connected via pipings 31, 32 to the bag body 30 are formed in the other casing 2. The flow passage 17 on the ozone releasing side of the ozone generator 3 and the flow passage 21 on the suction side of the vacuum pump 5 are connected to the connection ports 8, 9 via switching means 18, 22.
