PURPOSE: To provide a method for inspecting substance metabolism in a cell bounded by liquid and a device. CONSTITUTION: A control electrode and a counter electrode are brought into contact with liquid, a current between the control electrode and the counter electrode is led through the liquid and is controlled, the counter electrode exchanges protons for the liquid, a pH value is made to be equal to a reference value, a value combined with an electrode and/or a current is measured. In a device for this purpose, the control electrode 57 and the counter electrode 59 touching the liquid, pH sensor means 56, 58, the control electrode 57 and the confronting electrode 59 are combined by electric circuit means. |
