PURPOSE:To reduce the size of a long-size recording head by providing a means for detecting the moving distance of the recording head and a control means which activates the recording head to perform the dot printing operation each time the recording head moves a predetermined distance. CONSTITUTION:A control part 81 is composed of a microcomputor, etc., controls all the performances of an image recording device synchronously with an interior clock and is provided with a storing part 82, a recording control part 811, a scanning control part 812 and a display control part 813. The control part 81 is supplied with signals from an exterior device and supplies an image signal to the recording control part 811 and a manipulation signal for paper size, etc., to the scanning control part 812 and the recording control part 811 and the scanning control part 812 perform the control operations synchronously. The scanning control part 812 counts the number of the pulse signals received from a pulse encoder 561 to compute the moving distance of a recording head 51. The recording control part 811 supplies the parallel signal converted through a driving circuit 512 to a piezoelectric element provided on each nozzle of a nozzle part 51 to control the discharging of ink. |
