PURPOSE:To obtain ceramics having high strength, high fracture toughness and low frictional property and capable of firing at a low temp. by selecting proper amts. of various starting materials incorporated at the time of producing zirconia ceramics. CONSTITUTION:When CeO2 stabilized ZrO2, alpha-Al2O3 and La2O3 type beta-Al2O3 are fired as principal components to produce low friction ceramics fired at a low temp., CeO2 stabilized ZrO2 powder, alpha-AL2O3 powder, La2O3 type beta-Al2O3 powder and 5-30wt.% iron oxide powder are kneaded, compacted and fired in an atmosphere at 1,300-1,500 deg.C. |
