The filtration unit, designed to be fitted outside the tank or pool, consists of a filter (2) and a pump (6) to circulate the water through it. The pump comprises a sealed reservoir (7) with a water inlet (8) and an outlet (9), and the pump (10) itself, with its output sealed to the outlet (9) and its intake inside the reservoir. The pump is driven by an electric motor (13) fed by a very low voltage for safety purposes, immersed in the water in the reservoir (7) and cooled by it. The pump can be situated before the filter, adjacent to it or after it. In the latter case the pump draws the water through the filter and feeds the filtered water back into the tank or pool.
