PURPOSE: To provide an outboard motor in which a propulsion unit can be vibrationally isolated by causing a rubber mount having a rubber core to be engaged with outwardly open sockets between outer and inner sleeves, and providing a driveshaft housing having a portion laterally spaced from a king pin. CONSTITUTION: A king pin assembly 71 is provided with a means for steerably connecting the king pin assembly 71 to a rigid propulsion unit assembly 41 and for vibrationally isolating the assemblies 71, 41 from each other and includes a pair of forward projections 75 laterally spaced at a certain distance to each other and projecting forward, with a space 77 formed therebetween. Each of the forward projections 75 has an isolator socket 79. The isolator sockets 79 extend in a direction away from the space 77, open laterally outwards, and are respectively formed by radially extending bottom walls 81 and cylindrical walls 83. A steering arm 91 is a part of the king pin assembly and is spaced from a driveshaft housing to prevent engagement even while the rigid propulsion unit assembly 41 is vibrating. |
