<p>PURPOSE:To obtain an optical film improved in optical characteristics, heat resistance, flexibility and processability by applying a photosensitive composition to the surface of a specified transparent film and irradiating the surface with light to form a pattern on it. CONSTITUTION:A thermoplastic rpsin at least partially consisting of repeating norbornane structure units represented by formulas I-IV [wherein A, B, C and D are each H, a 1-10 C hydrocarbon group, halogen, a halogen-subtituted 1-10 C hydrocarbon group, -(CH2)nCOOR<1>, -(CH2)nOOR<1>, -(CH2)nOR<1>, -(CH2)nCN, -(CH2)CONR<3>R<2>, -(CH2)nCOOZ or the like; R<2> to R<3> are each a 1-20 C hydrocarbon group; Z is a halogen-substituted hydrocarbon group; and n is 0-10] and having an intrinsic viscosity of 0.31.5 di/g (in chloroform at 30 deg.C) and a weight- average molecular weight of 5000-100000 is molded into a transparent film having a thickness of 0.005-2mm, a biregringent index of 30mum or below, a heat distortion temperature of 100 deg.C or above, a transmittance to light in the visible region of 85% or above and a refractive index of 1.45-1.59. A photosensitive composition is applied to the surface of this film, and the surface is irradiated with light to form a pattern.</p> |
