PURPOSE:To always provide a stable generating function by bringing surfaces opposed to each other of a member, relating to a constitution of sealing a manifold region, and a separator singly mechanically into contact air-tightly sealed, so as to improve reliability of gas seal performance in a manifold part. CONSTITUTION:A fuel cell comprises a layer-built type fuel cell main unit formed by interposing a separator 5 for forming a fuel system gas flow path 7c and oxidant system gas flow path 7d between unit fuel cells 3, 3' and a manifold region air-tightly communicating with both the gas flow paths respectively through a hole 8 piercing the separator 5 in the thickness direction. This manifold region is constituted by arranging a plurality of ring-shaped members (example: concurrently using seal ring 10), containing at least electric insulating manifold ring 6, with mutual lamination direction surfaces putting into contact with each other and also by bringing surfaces opposed to each other of the ring-shaped member and the separator 5, corresponding to this ring-shaped member, mechanically into contact air-tightly sealed. |
