PURPOSE:To edit images with improved image quality by presenting the replacement candidates of outline graphics in an easily visible state to a user and performing replacement to the outline graphic of the selected candidate. CONSTITUTION:A replacement graphic display control part 102 takes out replacement graphic candidates from a bit map graphic data-base part 101 for a replacement request from a replacement request input part 106 and displays them at a display part 104. The user selects a graphic to be replaced with an original graphic from the displayed replacement candidates and specifies the graphic to a graphic selection part 103. The outline graphic of the selected replacement candidate is taken out from an outline graphic data base part 107 and an outline development part 108 performs development into a bit map graphic. A replacement execution part 109 replaces the original graphic and the replacement candidate graphic and a graphic display control part 110 displays the replaced graphic at the display part 104.
