The appts. having quasi-fixed head for recording and reproducing image lines at same time, comprises a head array(10) having a number of head gaps(15)(17) for recording and reproducing the image, a servo controller for moving the head array downwards and upwards in a width direction of a track in accordance with input of a driving voltage, and a signal processer recording the image signal on the tracks of the tape by the head array and reproducing the recorded image signal from the tracks of the tape. The servo controller comprises an actuator(21) having a polarization direction, a phase comparator(23) generating a phase control signal in accordance with a phase difference between the head array and the track, and a piezoelectric driving means(25) supplying the driving voltage to the actuator(21) in accordance with the phase control signal.
