Optimisation of spinning geometry of ring spinning machine

The spinning geometry on a ring spinning machine is optimised by measuring the spinning tension, or a variable correlating with the spinning tension, and/or the end breakage rate. These measurements are fed to a controller which controls at least one drive (33) to an element which influences the spinning geometry so that the end breakage rate and/or the spinning tension does not exceed a predetermined value or is at a minimum.
