A life-saving raft comprises a bottom section formed by one or more members 1, 2, 3 of buoyant material and an upper inflatable section 6 attached to the bottom section wherein the bottom section comprises at least two hingingly connected members adapted to be folded together with said upper section when said section is deflated. As shown, members 1, 2, 3 are made of a synthetic plastics material and are hinged together at 4, 5. The inflatable section may be inflated by gas cylinder 7 or manually at 9. Said inflatable section comprises one or more pneumatic hoops 10 which act as a support for a cover (not shown) and for automatic self-righting of the raft.</p> |
