INJECTION BLOW MOLDING DEVICE FOR THERMOPLASTIC CONTAINER

PURPOSE: To provide a face block and core rod assembly used in an apparatus for producing a container and other article from a thermoplastic material by an injection blow molding process. CONSTITUTION: A face block 10 is provided with a series of lateral openings 14 piercing the block 10 axially to extend and each of the openings houses one end portion of a fine tubular core rod 16. The core rod has an annular bush 18 fixed to the end portion housed in the opening thereof and the opening is formed so as to have a size permitting the radial movement of the annular bush and the core rod can be moved to the face block 10. The annular bush supports an elastomer O-ring 20 by the annular recessed part 18b provided to the end surface of the bush and is engaged with an inwardly bent annular flange 14b in a hermically sealed state at the rear end part of the opening. The core rod is arranged axially with respect to the annular flange and the hermetic sealing engagement of the O-ring and the annular flange is kept by the U-shaped holder 22 fixed to the front part of the face block.
