PURPOSE: To provide an electric connector with improved shield capable of decreasing a cross talk and an interference between contacts. CONSTITUTION: A component assembly 20 comprises a connection terminal to be engaged with an opposite partie's electric connection device and insulation component housing 22, 24 having a cable housing end for terminating a multi- conductor cable. Electric contacts 26, 28 are supported by the component housings 22, 24. Each contact 26, 28 has a conductor terminal part 26b and a connector terminal part 26c. The contacts 26, 28 which are arranged in lines extending horizontally and separated vertically in the component housing s 22, 24 are supported in pair such that each contact 26, 28 in one of the lines is aligned to meet each corresponding contact 26, 28 in other line. The contacts 26, 28 have a direct electric shunt relation with the other contacts 26, 28. An electric shield is provided around the contacts 26, 28, and a shield extending part is provided extend between at least two contacts 26, 28.
