The anti-theft device has a first plate (A) with a hole (1) attachable to the steering column (L). The hole has a sliding surface section. A second plate (C) with a hole (10) lies on the sliding surface of the first plate. A slider (B) is arranged between the first and second plates and is slidably guided in a groove in the first plate to interact with a segment on the second plate. The first plate is joined to the steering wheel and the second to the steering column.
