Zeolite for an ion exchanging agent is prepared by (a) reacting smectite based clay as starting materials such as kaolinite, halloysite and aluminum compound solution such as aquahydroxo ions of aluminum, [Al13O4(OH)24(H2O)12 7+ in the polar solution, by ion exchange, in order that the ratio of aluminum to silicon is 1:1, (b) filtrating, washing and drying the precipitate produced from this reaction, (c) heating the dried body at 120-350 deg.C after adding solid phase alkali of NaOH.
