<p>The invention relates to a ski binding having a safety release apparatus with a ski binding housing in which a release spring is arranged which is supported by one end on the ski binding housing and is connected by non- positive fitting to a moveable component. The ski binding has at least two parts moveable relative to one another, one of which can be guided out of the normal position, against a spring force, over a limited travel into the release position. Shortly before the release position is reached, the moveable part actuates a signal emitter which is intended to indicate impending release. According to the invention, the moveable component is either a release plate 13 connected to the release spring 40 with non-positive fitting or a pivoting or sliding latching member of a latching mechanism.
