<p>PURPOSE:To provide a character input device which can improve the character recognition efficiency and can quickly and surely recognize the written input characters. CONSTITUTION:The parallelogrammatic input frames 61a-61f (62a-62f) are prepared, and one of two pairs of sides of each of these input frames are set horizontal to an operator performing a writing input operation with the other pair of sides set oblique to the operator respectively. The character information consisting of the stroke information coincident with shapes of those input frames are previously registered in a character recognition dictionary 51. Then the series of coordinate value of the written characters inputted to the frames 61a-61f (62a-62f) are analyzed. Thus the stroke information inputted by writing is acquired. Based on this stroke information, the dictionary 51 is referred to and the characters inputted to those input frames by writing are recognized.</p> |
