PURPOSE: To provide the device and technique which interactively analyze a system log file. CONSTITUTION: The system log file which is monitored by personnel required for technique and system experts to determine the system performance, the state, and software faults is often generated during various hardware and software monitor operations. Each log file 120 includes reports with time indications. This technique is especially useful for analysis of a large-scale log file. A new release of software may include many incremental versions requiring the test, A log file including thousands of reports can be generated by the test of each incremental version. When this device 101 and the technique are used, reports are related to each other, and faults are isolated, and time patterns are recognized more quickly and efficiently in comparison with the use of normal non- graphic technique. |
