<p>The present invention relates to pattern effecting method and apparatus for effecting patterns by individually controlling guide points for guiding pattern yarns in a warp knitting machine and partial fall plate for knitting pattern yarns into a fall plate weave via a driving means, wherein an arbitrary number of movable units having guide points are movably provided along a row of knitting needles based on the driving means and wherein in effecting patterns the movable units are moved along the row of knitting needles by a desired displacement distance to be positioned so as to effect patterns, whereby a pattern effecting area for pattern yarns is obtained in accordance with the number of guide points, thereby making it possible to effect free and various patterns corresponding to those that would be produced by a Jacquard control. Moreover, in addition to pattern effecting through guide points, it is possible to realize knitting of fall plate weave without an elaborate device by moving an arbitrary number of movable units having guide points and/or an arbitrary number of movable units having partial fall plates based on the driving means so as to cause them to perform fall plate-like functions.</p> |
