PURPOSE:To prevent dew attached to an outdoor heat exchanger from being freezed, by controlling driving and stopping of an outdoor fan in such a manner that a temperature pattern is returned to a preceding temperature pattern when a stopping hour of the outdoor fan, for which a desired number of temperature patterns are set, is less than a predetermined hour and continues predetermined times. CONSTITUTION:A desired number of temperature patterns having different temperature differences between a temperature of an indoor heat exchanger 2a for driving an outdoor fan 1e and a temperature of the indoor heat exchanger 2a for stopping the outdoor fan 1e are set. At the time of first heating, an overload protecting action is controlled in accordance with a temperature pattern which has the largest temperature difference. When a stopping hour of the outdoor fan 1e is equal to or longer than a predetermined hour, a subsequent overload protecting action is controlled with the temperature pattern being changed to a temperature pattern which has a smaller temperature difference. When a stopping hour of the outdoor fan 1e for the respective temperature patterns is less than a predetermined hour and continues predetermined times, the overload protecting action is controlled so that the temperature pattern is returned to a preceding temperature pattern.
