PURPOSE:To use hollow fiber modules efficiently by a method in which water to be treated is filtered by the hollow fiber modules and the treated water is led to a treated water collection chamber from the upper drainage outlet of the hollow fiber module and also led to the treated water collection chamber from the lower drainage outlet of the hollow fiber module through a lower water collection case and a communicating tube to be discharged outside a tower. CONSTITUTION:An apparatus is equipped with a plurality of hollow fiber modules A which are arranged vertically in a filtration tower 1 and has vertical drainage outlets for treated water, a treated water collection chamber 5, a lower water collection case 7, and a more than one communicating tube 15. The modules A are fixed in the filtration tower 1 to be extracted upward and bonded to the lower water collection case 7 watertightly through bonding means installed to each module A. Water to be treated which is fed into the filtration tower 1 is filtered by the modules A. The treated water is led to the treated water collection chamber 5 from the upper drainage outlet of the module A and also led to the water collection chamber 5 from the lower drainage outlet of the module A through the water collection case 7 and the communicating tube 15 to be discharged outside the tower.
