The present invention relates to the use of compounds of formula (I), wherein B, B1, B2 and B3 are independently selected from oxygen and sulfur, R1 is selected from CH2OH, CH2Cl, CH2Br, CH2NH2, CH2CN, CH2OR, SO2R, SR, SSR, CHCl2, CCl3, CHBr2, CBr3, CH2F, CF3, and halogen, wherein R is a C1-C10 alkyl radical; R2 and R3 are independently selected from the same substituents as for R1 and may also be hydrogen; n is an integer from 1 to 10; and D is a polyvalent radical, in the sulfur-vulcanization of rubber, to vulcanizable rubber compositions comprising these compounds and to rubber vulcanization processes carried out in the presence of these compounds.
