Window-wiper with elastic strip and absorbent pad

The main portion (4) of the wiper is joined to a handle (1), and has an oblong mounting (4) for a strip (6) of elastic material, together with a water-absorbent pad (7) running along the mounting. The two sections (8, 9) of the main portion can be secured together in different relative angular positions up to 180 deg. apart. They can be held in place by a spring locking device (14,18,19) which must be overridden to release them. One section can have a trough-shaped recess for the other and through which a bolt (12 of the locking device passes, this also forming a pivot axis. The spring can act between one of the sections and a spring plate on the bolt, while the other section has the mounting for the strip and pad.
