PURPOSE:To improve color forming sensitivity and recording characteristics by forming a thermal recording material by providing a thermal color forming layer based on a leuco dye and a coupler on a support and compounding a specific exothermic heat amplifying material with the thermal color, forming layer. CONSTITUTION:A thermal recording material is formed by providing a thermal color forming layer based on a leuco dye and a coupler allowing the leuco dye to develop a color at the time of heating on a support and compounding an exothermic heat amplifying material being at least one of an azo compd., a peroxide nitro compd., a sulfohydrazide compd. and a hydrazo compd. In this case, the exothermic heat amplifying material may be added to the thermal color forming layer or may be added to the intermediate layer provided between the thermal color forming layer and the support. As a concrete example of the leuco dye added to the thermal color forming layer, there is a triphenylmethane or fluorane type dye and, as a concrete example of the coupler, there is a phenolic compd. or a thiourea derivative. |
