<p>PURPOSE:To prevent a user of a character input device from mistaking the operations required, for input of characters for the operations required for editing a text and to reduce the irritated feeling of the user caused by the misrecognition of a system when the user inputs the characters with a pen for editing a text by providing a changeover switch to the pen for the input of characters and the editing of the text. CONSTITUTION:A switch 4 contained in a pen 4 is moved toward an axis X, for example, so that a pen point 12 is replaced with another for changeover of the type styles of input characters. For instance, the switching is performed between a character input mode and a text editing mode when the switch 11 is moved toward an axis Y and the pen point 12 is replaced with another. Furthermore a changeover button 14 of the switch 11 is set at one of positions (1)-(6) to use the different pen points 12 according to each type style. Thus the type style that is presently selected by a tablet can be decided, and the information on this decision is sent to a system.</p> |
