PURPOSE:To lighten a burden imposed on an operator, to make image fixability excellent and to stabilize image quality by forming a nip impression after the temperature distribution or other states of a fixing roller and a pressing roller is stabilized by a control means when a fixing nip impression forming mode is selected. CONSTITUTION:When the nip impression forming mode is selected, a memory circuit stores the value of a time from turning on a power source till selecting the nip impression forming mode. Then, the rollers 81 and 82 are rotated with time length corresponding to the value of a elapsed time as a rotating and driving time for a heating roller fixing device 80 by using the relation of 'elapsed time to roller rotating time' which is stored in a master control circuit part being the relation between the state of the roller previously obtained by experiment and a roller rotating time required for stabilizing the states of the rollers 81 and 82 corresponding to the value of time. Thereafter, the nip impression forming operation is executed, a cassette 70 housing a transfer material P of a size suitable for forming the nip impression is selected, and the paper supply is started. |
