The chimney has a tube string (6) to transport the flue gases and an external jacket (4) with a radial clearance from the column. An aperture (9) in the jacket for checking and cleaning of the internal space of the chimney can be closed by a door. An output duct (22) to run off the condensation in the chimney passes through the jacket. The aperture in the jacket is sealed from outside by a cover plate. The door is fitted to this cover plate, and a connection (23) for the drain duct (22) is connected to it by a flange. There may be at least one ventilation shaft (7) between the tube string and the jacket to ventilate the chimney.
