PURPOSE:To obtain the high-purity subject compound useful as a medicine having inhibitory action on superoxide, anti-protein urine action, etc., in high yield by subjecting an indole derivative to ring formation, methylating and deprotecting. CONSTITUTION:An indole derivative of formula I (R<1> is a cyano lower alkyl, a phenyl lower alkyl, etc.; R<2> is H, a phenyl lower alkyl, etc.; R<3> is H, a lower alkoxycarbonyl, etc.) is subjected to ring formation to give an indole derivative of formula II. Then the compound of formula II is methylated to give an indole derivative of formula III, which is deprotected to give NF-1616-904 substance as a compound of formula IV. The compound of formula IV is useful as a preventive and a therapeutic agents for autoimmune diseases such as rheumatism, arteriosclerosis, ischemic heart disease, ischemic cerebral disorder, hepatic insufficiency, renal insufficiency, etc., and as a preventive and a therapeutic agents for nephritis. |
