In an induction motor controlling device for controlling a primary voltage V1(n) at discrete timings, a primary current I1(n) is detected and the following torque factor parameter u(n) is derived: <IMAGE> where D1(n)=(V1(n)/Ii(n))2-(R12+x1(n)2) D2(n)=R12+(x1(n)+xm(n))2-(V1(n)/I1(n))2 R1: the resistance of a primary winding, x1: primary leakage reactance, xm: exciting reactance.
