The visor has a fixed part (8) projecting above the face of the dash board (6) and a movable part (9) pivoted about an axis (10) carried by the fixed part. The movable part pivots between a rest position, parallel to the dash board face (11), and a user position when it extends in the direction of the driver. The movable part has a slide (20) which delimits the movable part from a part which carries a window and a second opaque part which fits the vehicle edge board. The fixed part carries a surface stop (28) for the opaque part. The opaque part has a contact zone (24) with a retaining part (25) carried by the lower edge of the dash board when the movable part is in its rest position.
