PURPOSE:To obtain the recording medium manufactured by forming inorganic thin films on a methacrylic resin substrate material and excellent in characteristics required for an optical information recording medium, less in deformation due to the absorption of moisture and superior in reliability under the circumstances of high temp. and high humidity. CONSTITUTION:The substrate material is obtained by polymerizing a monomer mixture which consists of a methacrylate monomer and an acrylate monomer and also contains a 40 to 80wt.% of at least one monomer selected from cyclohexyl methacrylate monomer, cyclohexyl acrylate monomer, N- cyclohexylmaleimide monomer and N-phenylmaleimide monomer and of which maleimide compound monomer content is adjusted to <=40wt.% and consists of a copolymer that has a 0.3 to 1.0dl/g intrinsic viscosity measured in chloroform at 25 deg.C. The inorganic thin films are formed on this substrate material. |
