PURPOSE:To convert an alkali-soluble copolymer into a flexible copolymer excellent in strength without causing either blocking or whitening. CONSTITUTION:This alkali-soluble copolymer is obtained by copolymerizing a monomer component of 10-25wt.% at least one of acrylic acid and methacrylic acid with 50-89wt.% at least one of an acrylic acid ester having a l-5C alkyl group and a methacrylic acid ester having a 1-5C alkyl group, 1-10wt.% acrylonitrile and 0-30wt.% other unsaturated monomers copolymerizable with the monomers and has 80-200mg KOH/g acid value, 10000-300000 number-average molecular weight and 15-40 deg.C glass transition temperature. Ethyl acrylate is used as the acrylic acid ester having the 1-5C alkyl group and stearyl acrylate is used as the other unsaturated monomers in an amount of 1-15wt.%. |
