The working is constituted in the shape of an elongated caisson (10) having two longitudinal walls (20), a top (22) and a bottom (21) which delimit a collector (23). The top forms with its upper face (24) a plane lateral area (25) and a gutter (26) which adjoin the flat surface (1). From place to place is a grating (28) opening into the collector. The working is constituted from prefabricated elements (30), mounted end to end on a resting bed, with complementary male and female ends. There are sealed covers at each transverse end of each element. Inside and upstream, relative to water flow, of certain gratings is a transverse bulge rising from the internal face of the bottom and interrupted at a distance from the top internal face to form a level diverter. In the lower part is a controlled evacuation sluice gate.
