The invention relates to a method of generating digital signatures from portable devices (A1, A2..Ai...An) of the microprocessor-card type, including calculation, communication and data-storage means which comprise at least one electrically programmable non-volatile memory, consisting in preparing encrypted data constituting coupons and loading these coupons into the non-volatile memories in order then to use these coupons so as to signal a message sent by a verifying unit.
