PURPOSE:To provide a long-lived lead-acid battery with a small liquid reduction in which the discharge of the critical surface between a positive electrode active material and a lattice body can be suppressed even when deep discharge is repeated. CONSTITUTION:A lead-acid battery has a positive electrode plate formed of an expand lattice body consisting of a lead alloy free from antimony, and a positive electrode active material containing an antimony compound. In this lead-acid battery, an antimony hardly permeable separator is preferably used from the viewpoint of liquid reducing quantity. As the antimony compound, 0.01-1.0mass%, to lead powder, of Sb2O3, Sb2O5, or a mixture thereof is desirably added to the positive electrode active from the viewpoint of life performance. |
