PURPOSE:To simplify an apparatus structure when high purity argon is separated and collected by liquefying, fractionating and separating, to reduce power cost, and to improve purity and yield of the argon to be collected. CONSTITUTION:The separator for high purity argon comprises a crude argon tower 201 for fractionating argon-containing gas to be guided from a lower part of an upper tower of a double fractionating tower 1 and guiding a small quantity of nitrogen-containing crude argon from a top of the tower to obtain denitrified crude argon containing oxygen and a small amount of nitrogen from an intermediate part of the tower, and a deoxygenating tower 202 for fractionating the denitrified crude argon to be discharged from the intermediate part of the tower 201, separating and guiding oxygen from a bottom of the tower, discharging a small amount of nitrogen-containing argon from the top of the tower and collecting high purity argon from the intermediate part of the tower.
