摘要 A fringe field switching mode LCD is provided to omit or minimize a black matrix, which is positioned above a data line, thereby improving the aperture ratio, by forming a metal electrode between the outermost common electrode and a data line within a pixel region. A color substrate(220) has a black matrix(BM). An array substrate(210) has a plurality of pixel regions. Each pixel region includes a flat-typed outermost common electrode(Vcom), a plurality of slit-shaped pixel electrodes facing the outermost common electrode, and a metal electrode(211) below the outermost common electrode. The metal electrode is positioned between the outermost common electrode and a data line(S/D). The data line is disposed between neighboring pixel regions. A liquid crystal layer(230) is interposed between the color filter substrate and the array substrate.
