PURPOSE:To provide a highly accurate, convenient and economical light transmission system residual developer quantity detecting device capable of easily applying to a small size developing device and a process cartridge. CONSTITUTION:The wiping member 17 is composed of flexible sheet member and the holding member for holding the flexible sheet member, the holding member is provided with the rotary shaft and the oscillating shaft for receiving the driving force from the agitation member 16, and by interlocking with the agitation member 16, the upper end part and lower end part of the wiping member 17 are moved reciprocatively so as to draw an arc in the direction of the arrow e. Thus, the surface of the transparent windows 13a and 13b are rubbed by the wiping member 17, hence the developer 7 stuck on can be removed, therefore the residual developer quantity can be highly accurately detected by the light emitting element 14 and the light receiving element 15. |
