In a liquid separating unit for dental purposes, a liquid separating cyclone with a housing surrounding a cyclone chamber (22) in which the extractor's motor spindle (26) is inserted, is flange mounted on an extractor. At the end of the spindle is fitted an impeller (42) for extracting the liquid separated in the cyclone and a dynamically balanced discharge section (28), the wall surrounding which tapers at least in one section (36) from the impeller (42) towards an outlet stub (96) for purified air.
