The couplings halves (1,2) are connected by flexible hoses to the respective vehicles. On each half is a contact bracket (6) transmitting electric power and/or signals. The transmission faces (9) on the brackets are opposite each other in the coupled position. These faces can be a set distance apart, there being no contact between them. The halves can be identical, and turned through 180 deg. in relation to each other in the engaged position. They can turn in relation to each other on an axis at right angles to the transmission faces, each having a stop (14) limiting this movement.
