Method of warehouse handling of piece goods cartons

The warehouse is of the tall shelving type and the handling uses a shelf handling machine with load retainers, consisting of a carton store and a servicing unit. The carton store is loaded with cartons to be stored prior to the machine travel round the warehouse. The cartons to be stored are exchanged for cartons to be dispatched during the machine travel around the warehouse. The cartons to be stored are brought with their front face secured to the shelf bottom front edge, or in a defined spacing to it, onto the carton setting place, with the latter reference line corresp. to the side reference face of the stored carton.
