CASING FOR OUTDOOR MACHINE OF AIR CONDITIONER

PURPOSE:To obtain the inexpensive and lightweight casing having sufficient rigidity for the outdoor machine of an air conditioner. CONSTITUTION:The casing 1 for an outdoor machine has flat plate parts 2A-2C provided to four surfaces other than the rear surface and bottom surface thereof. The flat plate parts 2A-2C are thin-walled planar parts and have rib-shaped thick-walled parts 5 along the corner parts where they are in contact with each other. A rib-shaped thick walled part 6 is added to the flat plate part 2C in the vicinity of a ventilation port 1A. This casing 1 is molded by a gas injection molding method. At this time, gas is injected in to the resin of the thick-walled parts 5, 6 to pref. form hollow parts. By this constitution, even when inexpensive polypropylene is used, resitual stress is reduced and deformation such as warpage is almost eliminated.
