Conversion reactor assembly which converts carbon mon:oxide during prodn. of synthetic raw gas

A reactor assembly (4) converts CO during the production of a synthetic raw gas made from a gas containing carbohydrate, by means of a catalytic converter (21) with an adjacent but separate liquid-tight cooling zone (15) flushed by process water. The novelty is that process water (18) and gas (14) are charged into the reactor under gravity by inlets located in the lower sector of the catalytic converter (21); further that the gas-stream mixture generated by an exchange of heat is removed (16) in the upper sector of the catalytic converter (21).
