PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of an image defect which is caused by sticking objects on a photoreceptor in the case where an electrifying member and the photoreceptor are left as it is, in contact with each other, in an image forming device using a contact electrifier. CONSTITUTION:Prior to image formation, prerotation is carried out to drive the photoreceptor, and the sticking objects are removed by the friction of a cleaning blade, etc., at that time. Time T required for the prerotation is automatically adjusted according to time Ts during which the photoreceptor has been stopped. A dummy toner pattern is formed on the photoreceptor during the prerotation, and the sticking objects are efficiently removed by the abrasive action of the toner. An amount of sticking toner pattern, its area, or the rotating speed of the photoreceptor are adjusted according to the time Ts. |
