PURPOSE:To provide a protein (and a DNA coding the same) active on hemangioendothelial cells and having activity to stimulate prostaglandin I2 production from these cells, thus useful for treatments of hemolytic uremia syndrome, cardiac ischemia, cerebral ischemia, arteriosclerosis, stenocardia etc. CONSTITUTION:The objective new DNA coding a proteinic physiologically active substance (PGI2 production-stimulating factor) of the formula or the like having the above-mentioned characteristics, and the other objective protein coded by this DNA. This new protein can be obtained by the following processes: mRNA is isolated from the whole RNA recovered from normal human diploid fibroblast, and from a cDNA synthesized using the mRNA as template, a cDNA library is made, and a DNA coding a PGI2 production-stimulating factor selected by screening the cDNA library is bound to a vector to transform host cells such as COS cells or CHO cells, and the resultant transformant is cultured. |
