PURPOSE:To provide a method capable of efficiently detecting an antibody of hepatitis virus of non-A non-B type. CONSTITUTION:This polypeptide contains an amino acid sequence from an amino acid sequence number 383 to 495 among an NS1 region of HCV gene. The polypeptide is used as an antibody to provide a method for detecting a HCV antibody in a serum of a patient of hepatitis of non-A non-B type.
