<p>The present invention relates to a head restraining device (1) for animals (and especially farm animals such as cattle, sheep and deer), the head restraining device (1) including a movable arm (2) and an activation device (3), the movable arm (2) and activation device (3) capable of being mounted on a substantially vertical surface (4), the head restraining device (1) characterised in that upon operation of the activation device (3) the arm (2) may be moved in such a way so that the arm and vertical surface may restrain the movement of an animal's head (14). In many preferred embodiments of the present invention the activation device is an air ram (3). The present invention addresses problems with present head restraining devices by providing a large enclosure into which the animals may enter prior to being restrained by the device, and also by providing a single movable arm which serves to restrain the animals.</p> |
